In 2007 the inaugural class of Darulquran met in the Men's Musalah of Darul Islam Masjid in West County St. Louis, MO for memorization of the sacred text of the Quran. Hafidh Mohammad Haroon Khan has made an outstanding effort to make Darulquran grow from that small gathering of Hifdh Class, into a more structured and unique educational institute that will draw in students from across the North America and around the world. At the same time, we retain our strong commitment to serving our local Muslim community, to propagate our rich Islamic Educational Heritage here in the Midwest region. Maulana Mohammad Haroon Khan completed the memorization of the Quran at the Jamiah Hamadia Karachi Pakistan in 1995. He then started studying Arabic language and classical Islamic Science ( Alim Course) in Jamiah Arabiah Islamiah and Ahsan-ul-Uloom in Karachi, Pakistan. After 4 years, he moved to the U.S. and continued his study at Al Mahdu Rashid, Canada. For his final year of Alim Course he went back to Pakistan and studied with Maulana Sheikh Saleem Ullah Khan. Upon graduating he moved back to the U.S. he started teaching at the Institute of Islamic Education (Elgin, IL). Since 2005, he has been teaching full-time and part-time Hifdh and Alim Course in St. Louis, MO. He is the founder and the director of Darul Quran Foundation. A total of 23 students, young boys and girls, memorized the entire text of Quran in just 3 years. They were able to manage studying their core academic subjects as well in the Home Schooling environment that was provided to them at Darul Quran. This is a record in the history of St. Louis, MO. The Muslims of this area are fortunate to have these Huffadhs available not only for Taraweeh Prayers in the month of Ramadhan, but anytime to act as substitute imams in any of the local Masajid. The students who graduated from Darul Quran went back to regular schools after completion of memorization and continued their education without missing any school year. We have 15 students enrolled and they will continue the same tradition of Hifdh and Home Schooling. We are committed to providing them the level of guidance and teachings that will help them to them succeed in home schooling and in Hifdh: in this world and in Akhirah. wa fi thalik fal yatanafas elmutanafisoon وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
